GCC Students exists to help middle school and high school students know Jesus, grow as disciples, and learn to live out their faith.

We are looking for a Campus Student Minister who wants to do more than maintain a program. We want someone who loves students, believes deeply in the local church, and is excited about building a ministry where students genuinely want to belong.

At the Greenford Campus, you will lead our Middle School Ministry and High School Ministry while developing the volunteers who make those ministries possible. You will teach, build relationships, create meaningful experiences, and help students take their next step with Jesus.

You will have room to lead. You will also have a team around you.

You will work closely with our Next Gen Minister and Greenford Campus staff while being part of the larger GCC Students team across our campuses.

What You'll Own

• Lead the Student Ministry

You will lead the weekly rhythm of MSM and HSM at Greenford.

That means creating environments that are biblically grounded and genuinely engaging for students. You will help plan teaching, programming, activities, and the overall experience students encounter when they walk through the doors.

We are not looking for someone who simply keeps the calendar moving. We want someone who is thinking about where students are spiritually and where we are trying to lead them.

• Help Students Become Disciples

Our goal is bigger than attendance.

You will help develop a ministry where students learn to know Jesus, understand Scripture, and live their faith beyond church programming.

You will intentionally help students build Christ-centered relationships, discover opportunities to serve, and begin developing into spiritual leaders themselves.

• Build a Great Volunteer Team

Student ministry does not happen through one person.

A major part of your role will be finding and developing adults who want to invest in the next generation. You will recruit and onboard volunteers, then continue helping them grow as leaders.

You will schedule your team, communicate expectations, provide support, and create a culture where volunteers know they matter.

• Create Experiences Students Remember

Camps and retreats matter. So do the smaller moments that happen throughout the year.

You will plan and lead campus-level events, mission opportunities, outreach experiences, and social gatherings that help students build relationships and grow spiritually.

You will also work with the GCC Family Ministry Team on major experiences involving kids, students, and families.

• Be Present in Students' Lives

Student ministry is relational.

You will build trusted relationships with students while also communicating clearly with parents and guardians.

When a student or family walks through a difficult season, you will help provide pastoral care and connection. When additional support is needed, you will work alongside GCC's pastoral team to make sure they are cared for well.

• Help Students Navigate What's Next

Students should not feel like they graduate from one ministry and suddenly have to figure out where they belong.

You will work with GCC Kids to intentionally welcome students into Middle School Ministry.

You will also work alongside the Next Gen Minister and Young Adult Ministry to help graduating seniors transition into their next season at GCC.

We want students to see themselves as part of the church, not simply part of a student program.

• Keep the Ministry Moving

There is administration involved. We will not pretend otherwise.

You will manage things like calendars, registrations, attendance, volunteer information, purchases, and your ministry budget.

You will communicate needs early and help solve problems when they arise.

The goal is not paperwork for paperwork's sake. Good systems create more space for good ministry.

• Can lead from the front while also developing other people.

• Are comfortable teaching Scripture in a way students can understand and apply.

• Communicate well with students and adults.

• Can take an idea and actually make it happen.

• Work well independently but genuinely enjoy being part of a team.

• Are teachable and willing to receive feedback.

• Can adapt when ministry does not go according to plan.

• Bring energy and creativity without needing to be the center of attention.

  We are looking for someone who is dependable and self-motivated, but also knows ministry should be fun.

  Most importantly, you should love God, love people, and believe in the mission of GCC.

• Experience

  A bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university is preferred.

  Candidates should have at least 2–3 years of experience working with students or children in ministry, education, or a similar environment. An equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience may also qualify.

  We care about your preparation, but we also care about what you have learned by actually working with people.

Skills That Will Help You Succeed

You should be able to:

• Communicate clearly in person and in writing.

• Organize projects and follow through on details.

• Solve practical problems when plans change.

• Lead volunteers with both clarity and encouragement.

• Manage your time and priorities effectively.

• Receive feedback and continue growing as a leader.

• Bring new ideas to the table while supporting the larger direction of GCC Students.

  Technology

  You do not need to be a tech expert.

  You should be comfortable using Microsoft Office and Google Workspace and be willing to learn the technology GCC uses for ministry.

  Our current tools include Apple devices, CCB, and ProPresenter.

  If you can learn new systems without panicking when someone says, “There should be a button somewhere,” you'll probably be fine.

  Certifications & Requirements

  This position requires:

• A valid driver's license.

• Certificate of Ordination.

• CPR certification, or the ability to obtain or renew it within six months of hire.

• First Aid certification, or the ability to obtain or renew it within six months of hire.

• State authorization to officiate weddings, or the ability to obtain or renew it within

  six months of hire.

Physical & Work Environment

Student ministry involves more than sitting behind a desk.

The role regularly includes using computers and other equipment and may involve sitting, standing, walking, or assisting with ministry activities and events.

The employee must regularly be able to lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds.

Some ministry activities will take place outdoors, and the work environment can occasionally be louder or more active than a traditional office.

What Success Looks Like

Success is not simply having a packed student room.

We want to see students who are becoming disciples of Jesus and adult leaders who are increasingly equipped to invest in them.

We want families to trust GCC Students, volunteers to feel valued, and students to know that they have a place here.

And we want a Student Minister who is growing too.
