MULDER church

WETUMPKA, AL

DIRECTOR OF STUDENT MINISTRIES

The opportunity

Mulder Church is seeking our next full-time Director of Student Ministries to oversee the spiritual growth and development of students in grades 7–12.

We are a Global Methodist Church located in the fast-growing community of Redland in Wetumpka, Alabama. As our community continues to grow and change, so does our church. We have recently added a third worship service to make room for more individuals and families.

Redland has a new middle school with over 600 students in grades 5–8, and our local high school has a student body of over 1,200. The opportunity to connect with and disciple students in this season is exciting and full of potential.

The ideal candidate will have a mature and growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a clear calling to student ministry. They will love teenagers, communicate effectively, and work well with others. We are looking for someone who is a strong team player and builder, can lead with minimal supervision, stays organized, and has meaningful experience working with youth and families.

mulder church

Founded in 1939, Mulder Church has grown from a small rural congregation into a thriving intergenerational church deeply rooted in its community. Over the past 30 years, the church has welcomed younger families, partnered with local schools, and developed vibrant ministries like Celebrate Recovery and a long-standing children's program. With an average Sunday attendance of 469 (including children), Mulder is positioned in a growing area and led by a collaborative, staff-led team. Theologically, the church is Wesleyan and part of the Global Methodist Church, but its emphasis is less on denominational identity and more on authentic connection and spiritual growth.

Let’s chat workplace culture

Mulder’s staff culture is fun, supportive, and highly collaborative—described by many as feeling like family. With eight team members and a shared commitment to spiritual and personal growth, staff meetings include time for prayer, mutual care, and genuine connection. The church values humor, humility, and spiritual maturity. Leaders are trusted with real decision-making power and encouraged to work as a team, not in silos. While Fridays are protected as a day off, ministry here is “all hands on deck” when needed. Staff are expected to be discerning, relational, and invested in both their calling and the wider Wetumpka community.
