Key Responsibilities
Weekend Gatherings and Preaching
Support the Senior Pastor in preparing and delivering biblically sound, theologically orthodox sermons rooted in Wesleyan theology.
Preach regularly as scheduled, assisting in leading weekly worship gatherings and administering sacraments (baptism and Holy Communion).
Contribute to special services throughout the church year.
Leadership and Pastoral Care
Partner with the Senior Pastor in casting and advancing the church’s spiritual and missional vision.
Provide leadership oversight to staff.
Support and develop staff, ministry leaders, and volunteers.
Offer pastoral care through counseling, visitation, weddings, funerals, and crisis support.
Equip lay leaders to extend care and discipleship across the congregation.
Engage the congregation in the mission of the Global Methodist Church: to make disciples of Jesus Christ who worship passionately, love extravagantly, and witness boldly.
Develop and oversee discipleship pathways that encourage spiritual growth and multiplication of leaders.
Encourage and mobilize the church in local and global mission initiatives.
Denominational Relationship
Participate in district, conference, and denominational gatherings as appropriate.
Uphold and teach the doctrines and Discipline of the Global Methodist Church.
Qualifications
A clear and evident calling to pastoral ministry.
Ordained (or on the path toward ordination) as an Elder in the Global Methodist Church.
Master of Divinity (M.Div.) or equivalent from an accredited seminary.
Strong biblical preaching and teaching gifts rooted in Wesleyan theology.
Demonstrated leadership and pastoral experience in a congregational setting.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
Commitment to the authority of Scripture, the Lordship of Jesus Christ, and the historic Christian faith.
